The Road that Brought Me here Part 3 of 3

Well I started swimming because sinking wasn’t an option.dailyrecord-blanche

I think people have to go through very tough times in order to get to where they are supposed to be.  I am sure I am not alone.  I am sure there are plenty of women who have the same kind of stories.  I thank my husband for always being able to see the bigger picture and having faith in me.  My father, who is also an entrepreneur always told me to be in control of your own future, especially financially.  He always said “if there is something you don’t like about your current situation make your own lane.”  He told me that owning your own business is not for the weak hearted.  It is only for dreamers, risk takers and people that aren’t afraid of hard work, failures and growing pains.  The only other thing that I would add to his words of wisdom is FAITH.  You have to have faith in a higher power, for me that is God, but you also have to have faith in yourself.  Looking back on my entire situation having faith in myself was the one thing that I lacked. It took my family, friends, hell even some of my enemies to give me that faith in myself, but now that I have it, there is no stopping.  I am not scared of anything!!!!!!!!

So where am I now?  I am doing very well.  Everyday is different and to be honest I make mistakes everyday which actually is a blessing.  I learn from those mistakes and it helps me conquer other issues.  I am a creative creature that has a variety of clients.  I have corporate clients, government agencies, non-profits, IT Firms, artists, and designers. I have won several awards for my business as well as made contributions to my community.  I am MBE, SBE, DBE and county certified.  I have been asked to speak to other women going through the struggle of work life balance and entrepreneurship.  Today Bella-Rose is 5 and Maximo aka “Max” is 3 and successfully potty trained.

I work crazy hours, but I have the opportunity to have balance!  If we want to go to the zoo on a Tuesday at 1pm in the afternoon, Mommy can do that.  The best thing of it all is that I did it my way and I am profitable. Slowly but surely I am hitting my goals and I am ok with that.  Do I make $100K each month…..ummm no, but right now I feel great about the progress.  I am adding additional services, teaming up with reliable resources and people and building my client base one project at a time.  What road have you been on? I would love to hear about it.
